We chose to use accidental sampling since it was more convenient and the subjects were more readily available. Thus, the sample population involved 50 Nanyang Polytechnic students between the ages of 18 and 30.
Such a choice of target group allowed us to get efficient responses and results, allowing us to quickly analyse our results and to focus on more crucial aspects of our study.
How Was The Data Collection Done?
Our group carried out the collection of data on 2 separate days to reach my group’s quota of 50 subjects.
Before we carried out the data collection, a short briefing session was conducted to explain the purpose of the research, duration of the activity, instructions for the activity, equipment we will be using and lastly, confidentiality of data collected. An information letter, regarding the use of pictures taken during the activity, was passed around to the subjects for their reading pleasure and any questions asked were answered. We carried on with the data collection only after receiving their verbal consent.
A brief procedure of the data collection process is shown in the figure below (Figure 1).
